MINEOLA-PORT CREDIT LANDSCAPE DESIGN
SERVICES
JHDG was contracted by the homeowner of this Mineola-Port Credit estate to create a landscape design around their newly built home.
When we arrived there was minimal landscaping, the soil was in poor condition and the property had grading issues. The landscape looked quite stark despite being in the centre of the Mineola area forest. There was a dry riverbed running through the property that flooded each spring. The homeowner had grown up in the area and expressed a desire to see the forest return to the area around their new home.
JHDG wanted to create a mature landscape to match the home’s architecture and blend better with its surroundings, honouring the Genus Loci of the surrounding environment.
The design began with a regrade of the property to ensure proper drainage and water flow throughout the seasons and improve the soil quality.
Our team then added rockeries to create elevated areas, drawing the eye around the grandeur of the property. A blend of trees were planted to create four-season interest and privacy, including a commemorative mature Japanese maple, adding significant age to a brand new build.
