Earlier in my career, I spent my days in corporate environments where productivity was the priority and time outdoors was intentional. Lunch breaks at a park, quick visits to a garden centre… I didn’t have the language for it then, but I do now. Nature plays a vital role in how we regulate, think, and feel. Today, that understanding shapes everything we do at JHDG. Follow the yellow brick road ✨ We recently spent Follow the yellow brick road ✨ We recently spent the most magical day at Bloomland in Oz at the Royal Botanical Gardens. Yes, it was whimsical, nostalgic, and absolutely breathtaking… but what stayed with me was the feeling. Immersive environments have the power to shift us. To slow our breathing. To spark wonder. To reconnect us to our imagination, our childhoods, to nature, and to each other. And if I’m being honest? The orchids completely stole my heart. Layer upon layer of drama. Each bloom a living work of art. I could have lingered for hours (though the kids had other plans 😉). If you’re looking for a unique, uplifting adventure, you still have time to visit. This journey through Oz is a beautiful reminder that thoughtful design doesn’t simply decorate a space. It transforms how we experience it. This vibrant bed of Echinacea flowers are absolutely thriving along the woodland edge, swaying gracefully in the breeze as diligent bees buzz around them. HOW DO WE GET STARTED?

WHAT DOES IT COST FOR A DESIGN?

Our fees are based on the scope of work and level of support required to complete your landscape design project.  This information will be gathered during the consultation and a written estimate will be provided.

CAN YOU ESTIMATE HOW MUCH MY PROJECT WILL COST?

During the consultation, Jennifer will outline the scope of work for your project, including budget expectations and timelines.

DO YOU HELP US FIND A CONTRACTOR?

JHDG has a short list of contractors that they have worked with for years and sometimes decades. These trades, contractors and third party specialists provide exceptional customer service and quality craftsmanship. As a design customer, you will automatically be introduced to our contractors who will quote your project for implementation.

DO YOU STAY INVOLVED DURING THE CONSTRUCTION?

Yes, we are involved to the end and see your project to completion, while keeping the integrity of the design in tact.

I THINK I NEED PERMITS AND AN ARBORIST REPORT TO BUILD THE LANDSCAPE, DO YOU OFFER THIS SERVICE?

Yes, we offer a service which includes acquisition of required reports, stamped construction drawings and budgets by third parties. We can also assist with permit acquisition.

WILL YOU WORK WITH OUR CONTRACTOR?

We prefer to work with our own list of contractors and trades who have been vetted over the years for exceptional service and quality.

CAN YOU HELP ME FIND FURNITURE?

Yes, we offer a garden plan service which includes support in such areas as planting plan, lighting plan and furniture layouts and sourcing.

CAN I BUY MY OWN PLANTS?

Our team of horticulturally trained professionals will source all of the plants as well as the oversee the installation of new soil and irrigation for optimum garden success.

I AM AN INTERIOR DESIGNER AND NEED HELP WITH MY CLIENT'S BACKYARD. DO YOU OFFER THIS SERVICE?

Yes, we love to work with our industry colleagues and share our knowledge and expertise.

MY CONTRACTOR AND POOL COMPANY HAS COMPLETED THE HARDSCAPE AND WE JUST NEED A PLANTING PLAN. IS THAT POSSIBLE?

Yes, we are happy to provide a Garden Plan service.

We are absolutely thrilled with this company! Jennifer’s vision of our garden and front yard was perfection. She immediately understood our taste and how to maximize the space. She created a sanctuary for us, as well as a beautiful venue for entertaining.

We cannot believe the transformation!! Our gardens and yard are absolutely beautiful! Jennifer and team did an amazing job. We consulted with Jennifer many months ago, and after reviewing plans decided to go ahead with the job. She has a wonderful design sense, and all elements of the work (garden, lawn, pathway) beautifully compliment our house – a tasteful, elegant design. Also, the plants chosen are all native and low maintenance – so beyond grateful for this!!
